Marvis likens the flavour to a polar shiver; in plain terms it is a cold, brisk peppermint, with menthol and peppermint oil among its listed flavour components. It also serves as a first taste of the flavour, ahead of a full tube.

Small tube, same working parts. The whitening is mechanical: brushing passes calcium carbonate and hydrated silica over the teeth, and that polish helps lift surface stains gradually; the published ingredient list names no peroxide. Xylitol and sodium saccharin sweeten the paste, and sodium lauryl sulfate makes it foam. The sodium fluoride in this small tube helps prevent tooth decay.

The tube itself is multilingual. The word toothpaste runs along its edge in six languages, from dentifricio to zahnpasta, beside black Marvis lettering and the oval Marquis portrait. Behind the tube is the Ludovico Martelli company, which took Marvis on in 1997, and Marvis states that it makes all of its toothpaste in Italy.

For straight peppermint without the whitening angle, the Classic Mint 10ml is the companion mini. For daily brushing at home, the 85ml Whitening Mint is the full-size tube.

Is the 10ml Whitening Mint the same formula as the 85ml?
