Cinnamon toothpaste divides people, and Boka Nano-Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste in Cinna Mint makes no attempt to sit on the fence. The cinnamon arrives first, and it is the warm red-hot kind rather than the dusty baking-spice kind — cinnamon leaf oil and clove oil working together, with a genuine prickle to it.

Then the peppermint lands underneath and pulls the temperature back down. That push and pull is the whole point of this one: the spice builds across the two minutes of brushing and the mint clears it at the end. It is the most assertive flavour Boka makes, and the people who like it tend to like it a lot.

Underneath the flavour, the formula is standard Boka. Nano-hydroxyapatite (n-Ha) — a biocompatible mineral made from the same building blocks as natural tooth enamel — is the core active cleaning and whitening ingredient, paired with hydrated silica to gently polish away surface stains from coffee, tea and red wine. Aloe vera, xylitol and green tea leaf extract sit alongside it. Fluoride free, SLS free and paraben free.

How to use...

Apply a pea-sized amount to your brush (No need to wet the bristles) and brush for 2 minutes, 2 times per day. For best results, do not rinse after use. The paste is non-toxic in small quantities and more contact time with the enamel is ideal.

▸ What does Boka Cinna Mint taste like?
Warm red-hot cinnamon first, then cool peppermint underneath. Cinnamon leaf oil and clove oil give it a genuine spicy prickle, and the mint clears it at the end. It is the most assertive flavour in the Boka range.

▸ Is it very spicy?
It has a noticeable warmth rather than heat, and it builds across the two minutes of brushing. If you enjoy cinnamon gum you will be comfortable with it. If spice is not for you, Ela Mint is the safer pick.

▸ How is it different from Coco Ginger?
Both are warm and non-fruity, but Coco Ginger is mellow and slightly sweet, with ginger and coconut. Cinna Mint is sharper and more invigorating, with clove and peppermint giving it a much bigger kick.

▸ Does it contain fluoride?
No. Boka uses nano-hydroxyapatite (n-Ha) in place of fluoride across its toothpaste range. Cinna Mint is fluoride-free, SLS-free and paraben-free.

▸ Does it whiten teeth?
It contains hydroxyapatite and hydrated silica, which gently polish away the surface stains left by coffee, tea and red wine. There is no peroxide, so expect a gradual change over several weeks of twice-daily brushing rather than an overnight result.

▸ Are there any allergens I should know about?
The paste contains cinnamon leaf oil, clove oil, and mango, avocado and cucumber fruit extracts. It is also made in a facility that handles peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs and sunflower, so check the full ingredient list if you have an allergy.
